Bamboo, a truly underutilised, amazingly versatile, building material. The compressive strength of bamboo is two times higher than concrete, while the tensile strength is close to steel. Bamboo fibre has a shear stress that is higher than wood…what, that's totally super!!!
High in natural biophilic aesthetics, bamboo is a quick growing grass, so when the stem is harvested it grows back.
Another material with a long historical pedigree; easy to grow, harvest and transport, bamboo construction has been employed by the ancients through-out Asia and Central & South America.
With some incredible attributes, Bamboo surely makes it as one of our super building material!!
